Sanitation drive in TIA to commemorate death of Minister Adhikari

Kathmandu : A cleaning campaign and awareness drive was organized in and around the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu today, commemorating the 13th day of demise of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari.  Minister Adhikari and six other people were killed in a helicopter crash in Taplejung district on February 27.

In the initiative of Minister Adhikari, the only international airport in the country had recently seen a profound change in its interior and exterior outlook as it underwent beautification process while entry and departure to the Airport was streamlined.  Reforms in TIA were in the priority of the Minister since he assumed office.

The TIA organized the sanitation programmme, sapling plantation and awareness drive in memory of all those killed in the tragic incident, according to TIA General Manager Rajkumar Chettri.  On the occasion, a sapling of Rudrakshya was planted in the memory of Minister Adhikari. (RSS)
